Driving forceThe earth is made up of there basic layers; the crust, the mantle and the core. The core is located in the centre of earth, it is extremely hot, reaching a temperature of 6000 degrees celsius. Then there's the mantle, it's between the crust and the core, the mantle is made up of semi melted rock called magma, it get heated up by the core's high temperature, this makes them less dense and moves up towards the crust, then is gives the plates energy to move. Once the magma loses its energy, it become denser and move down again. Then the cycle repeats and the magma get heat up
